ILLiad Request Status Message Glossary
What do the ILLiad status messages really mean? Still not sure? Ask ILB.

Most Common States
Status Explanation
Submitted by Customer Request has been received and is queue for processing.
Awaiting Copyright Clearance ILB staff is checking to see if a copyright fee is required to obtain requested article.
Awaiting Request Processing Item has gone through copyright clearance and is awaiting ILB staff request processing.
Request in Processing This is the date and time when the request was received for by staff for processing.
Request Sent Request has been sent out to potential lenders.
Awaiting Post Request Receipt Processing Item has been sent by the lender, but has not yet arrived on campus.
In Print Queue Item has been partially processed by ILB staff.
In Electronic Delivery Processing Article has been received and electronically and is being processed by the ILB staff for web delivery.
Awaiting Customer Contact Item has been partially processed, notifications will soon be sent to user regarding web pickup or pickup at a library location.
Customer Notified by E-mail An e-mail notice has been sent to the customer with specific information about the arrival and pick up of requested item(s).
Check "Your Account" in Barton Catalog Items are in transit to pickup location.

You will receive an email notification from the MIT Libraries when the item has arrived and is ready for pickup, you can also check Your Account for more info.
Delivered to The Web Article(s) have been posted on for download. Select "View Electronically Received Articles" from the ILLiad Main Menu to pickup your article(s).
Checked out to Customer Item has been checked out to customer.
Item Checked In Item has been returned to the ILB staff and is in queue for return processing.
In Return Address Print Queue Item has been returned and checked in by ILB staff and is waiting for the printing of a return address label.
Request Finished Request has been successfully processed and completed. Requests with this status are archived under "View/Request History" button (*Cancelled requests are included).
Not as Common States
Awaiting Article Purchase Your request is being purchased directly from the publisher or a document delivery provider.
Awaiting Extensive Searching An initial search has been performed without finding a potential lender. ILB will continue to try to locate the material.
Awaiting Unfilled Processing Your request has been sent to potential lenders, but no one has answered the request. ILB will continue to try to obtain the material from other sources.
Awaiting ALA Processing The lender for this item requires the receipt of a paper form (ALA form) for processing. The ALA form is being processed by ILB staff.
Awaiting Renewal Request Customer has requested a renewal for this item and ILB staff is waiting for the renewal request response.
Awaiting Doc Provider Processing Because of availability or copyright restrictions, we must obtain your item from a commercial document provider. ILB staff has found a provider and is awaiting delivery of your item(s).
Awaiting Return Label Printing Customer has returned item to library and it is awaiting return processing to the lending library by ILB staff.
Cancelled by Customer You have cancelled your request.
Long Term Processing When you've placed more than 25 requests in a 48 hour period, your requests may move to "Long Term Processing" while they are worked on by ILB staff.

Requests that have gone unfilled multiple times may also be labeled with this status as ILB staff gather more information about the item.
Lost Books Customer has reported item lost or damaged. ILB staff is awaiting invoice/ replacement charges from the lending library.
Non-OCLC Processing ILB has contacted a non-OCLC source to obtain the material.

Suppliers that do not use the OCLC system to accept requests include the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Stanford University, and National Technical Information Service (NTIS).

In the case of unpublished papers, the ILB staff may have contacted the author or publisher to obtain the material.
Received Incorrect/Partial Item Item received does not match requested item or is incomplete. ILB staff is correcting problem.
Submitted to AUC ILB staff have contacted colleagues throughout the MIT Libraries to gather more information in support of your request.
